My morning sketch…relaxed in my astute way…sipping coffee…kids playing on the trampoline in the background…this is how I disappear…away from the world of thoughts in my head…senses fail me…scribbling away…the prettiest weeds I ever did see…dreaming again by the river…like I always do…you just never know…just moments…amusing and (8×10 oil pastel)

Ah yes…these are starting to take shape. Evolving…most definitely. Waking up. I was selected to be an exhibitor at the Stowe Arts Festival. Extremely thrilled about this…as my next step was to figure out how to capture the Stowe market. I am smiling…lots of love in my sweet existence. I think I am finally getting what the great beings have known…be perpetually awake and present. (18×24 oil on linen)

This is more my style…abstract…yet full of life. Painting easily allows an altered dimension…be here now…a cushioned place…thoughts…not able to skew perceptions…the end product a meditative creation of art. I can not imagine any other existence…what I am doing right now. Did I mention I hosted a bake sale through moveon.org and raised 134.00 for the Obama campaign…kudos to all who donated…even the biker Canadians left a 20.00 Canadian bill…you know when the Canadians are giving for the cause…the world shall have a global candidate. In search of the perfect words…flip open my closest zen book. “Now that does not mean go up to a mountain and live in a cave. It means you do what you do because that’s what the harmony of the universe requires.” Everything is done without attachment…most especially love. I need a meditation box. A safe place to enter…shut down the senses…sit or lie down…purge myself of the inner ridiculous emotional drama. Just be. From that place…all is manifested…in perfect harmony with the universe. Life is like an art gallery…a new friend asked me why I left my front door open…you never know who is going to stroll in…attracting and manifesting in every moment. Shortly later a couple from Montreal staying at the charming B&B inn down the street walked into my gallery…to be entertained by Christine and friends…so very cool…whirling in the Christine vortex… ps…still working on these…far from finished…painting makes me present…now the challenge of aligning my inner purpose with the outer. My preference…start with a clean canvas…paint whatever it is from your head…personally not a big fan of models and live figure painting…I just do not have the patience… So what is new…getting tons of local recognition with my gallery space…taking my chances…trying to get into the Stowe Arts Festival…laughing at myself…hosted a bake sale on my front lawn to raise money for moveon.org for the Obama presidential campaign. So many people were gracious…donating their time…baked goods…and spirit…thanks for making the bake sale a success. Going forward…Obama will not be campaigning in Vermont…nor should he…as has 60% plus of the vote…nonetheless…feel the need to do my part to ensure that this happens. Getting a kick at others who attempt to analyze me…really silly…I don’t care…what matters to you…does not matter to me…always on the frantic path of love and peace…will continue to work on this series tomorrow… should darken the background…or stick to less color…which seems to work better for me. In the process of getting my new work in a gallery in Stowe…a series of framed pencil and ink drawings…everyone…everything…important lessons to teach us…if only westop…look…and listen…let go of the story…let go of the silly story…we are all in this together…I guess…really what is eating at me…is the annoyance of friends who judge…friends who pretend to have your back…and what do I need to do…let go of the need for them to have my back…sweet oxymoron…what are friends for..(pencil and ink)

“Is everybody else alright?” - Bobby Kennedy’s words immediately after he was shot 40 years ago. “What we need in the US is love, compassion, and wisdom…,”words from Kennedy in a speech after the Martin Luther King assassination. Obama’s campaign has been compared to Bobby Kennedy. A progressive candidate who started in politics through community organizing…who opposed the war in Iraq…who is not afraid to stand up to the politics of fear…an African-American became the Democratic nominee for president…the greatest upset in US politics.
Still riding high from the sale of “Talk of the Town” painting. Careful not to spout my good fortune with all in my path…so easy to let my head swell…trying to find absolute rights and wrongs is a trick we play on ourselves to feel secure and comfortable. We can either cling to security…or we can let ourselves feel exposed…completely naked…sounds uncomfortable or frightening…or quite daring and brave…nonetheless egolessness is grounding. Lots going on…the exhibit at the Daily Planet was a success…sold a painting for lots of money…feeling good about my home studio…lots of positive feedback…perfecting my golf game (my latest addiction)…playing lots of tennis…transforming my home. This is one of several nude paintings done on drawing paper…sorry I have not posted these…they really look great framed and on my wall. (pencil and ink)
